The Newark Trust for Education offers a variety of opportunities for families to engage with our work. We partner with family-focused organizations across the city and region to support quality early learning, social-emotional learning, and family leadership.
Emerging Approach to Family Engagement (2021-present)
In 2021 NTE launched a formal effort to codify and implement a model for family engagement that promotes print and digital literacy, family leadership, and warm connections to services and supports available in the city, as well as the county and the state.

NTE launched the Newark ParentChild+ home visiting demonstration with funding from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and the Leon and Toby Cooperman Family Foundation (LTCFF) in 2018 and completed two program cycles, including 187 families from all five Wards of Newark. Each cycle, spanning approximately a year, was conducted in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
