Program Coordinator

Mrs. Walden works with colleagues to engage community members and mobilize volunteer teams to support initiatives that seek to transform communities. This position involves working with families, children, and school-based groups to identify issues of importance to the education of children and youth in Newark, promote social-emotional and mental health as foundational components of education, and brainstorm potential improvement strategies.

Before joining the Trust, Mrs. Walden worked for four years at The Partnership for Maternal & Child Health. While working as a Cablevision representative, she gained a deep understanding of the community she served and set the stage for her later work advocating on behalf of the community.

Mrs. Walden attended the Lincoln Technical School for Business and earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration. She also completed continuing education courses in Family Engagement at Harvard University and Rutgers University. She is passionate about Newark and its children. She firmly believes, "Your baby is my baby too!"
