The Promise of Promise Programs
On January 24th, the Newark Trust facilitated a meeting of the Education Sub-committee of the Newark Funders Group to discuss college-readiness. Trust Executive Director, Ross Danis, spoke about the importance of the pre-college years in the context of overall education programs and funding. Furthermore, he provided a context that helped to frame a deeper conversation about what types of interventions Newark needs (or doesn't need) with regards to keeping kids on track for college or a career.
