Catty Nelson

Early Learning Specialist

Catty Nelson joined the Trust as an Early Learning Specialist in October of 2018 for the Parent-Child Home Program (PCHP), serving the East and North wards of Newark. Fluent in Spanish, Creole and English, Catty has extensive experience in the area of home visiting programs and understands the importance of focusing on children’s literacy and early development. Catty is a mother of two children and resides in New Jersey.


Esther Marques da Silva

Early Learning Specialist 

Esther Marques da Silva joined the Trust as an Early Learning Specialist in October 2018 for the Parent-Child Home Program (PCHP), serving the East and North wards of Newark. Fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English, she enjoys spending time in Newark’s Ironbound section where she attends church and serves local children and community members through volunteerism. Esther holds a B.A. in Psychology from Kean University and has a passion for learning about different cultures and their customs.


Yvonne McBride

Early Learning Specialist

Yvonne McBride is the Early Learning Specialist at the Newark Trust for Education, which is someone who visits the home & facilitate play, verbal interactions with children as well as show the parents how to engage with their children in a positive communication.

Deborah Stamps

Early Learning Specialist 

Deborah Stamps joined the trust in October 2018 as a Early Learning Specialist for the Parent-Child Program (PCHP), serving the Central, South and West wards of Newark. She developed a passion for early learning through volunteer efforts as a teacher’s aide and personal children's aide at many elementary and middle schools across Newark including Harriet Tubman Elementary School, Camden Middle School, Camden Street Elementary School, Newton Street Elementary and Broadway Elementary Schools. Deborah also served two years as the head teacher in the infant and toddler classrooms for the Sunshine Daycare Center in Newark. She believes in the proverb “it takes a village to raise a child” and is fully committed to improving the lives of children in her community.

Tameeka Walden

Early Learning Specialist 

Tameeka Walden joined the Newark Trust for Education as a Early Learning Specialist, for the Parent Child Home Program in August 2018.

Tameeka's motto is "Your Baby, is My Baby." She believes that we can give each of our families the fast track to education and make the transition easier for both parent and child.
