As the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) continues preparations for the next stages of school opening, hearing from every stakeholder group is a priority. In order to meet the NJDOE’s rapid timeline for reviewing responses they request that all parents of school aged children complete the survey by today, June 8, 2020. Cast Your Vote While There's Still Time

Today, TUESDAY, May 12th is the final day that citizens of Newark will have the opportunity to cast their vote for the three newest members of the Newark Board of Education, a nine-member board that makes important decisions that impact our children's education. 

If you have not received a ballot for today's election, you can pick it up in person at the Newark Board of Elections, today through 7:30pm. You may also hand deliver your ballot or drop it in the mail. All ballots post marked with today's date and received by this Thursday, will be counted.

The Newark Trust for Education remains committed to providing families with updated resources during the covid-19 pandemic. We will update our website and social media pages with new information and resources as they emerge. Below you'll find two new resources (indicated by *) and information on an event addressing the impact of Covid-19 on students in their own words (happening today at 2pm). Resources include strategies for educators to build connectedness with students and families and a live on-air instructional series for children in grades 3-6.
